Financial Planning for College Night, 10/1/19
6:00pm-7:00pm. Financial Planning for College Night.
Are you stressed or troubled about the expense of attending college? Are you unsure of how to search for and secure money to help pay tuition costs and living expenses? Please join Kelly O’Conner of College Money Academy and Mountain Financial as he shares strategies on ways to reduce the financial burden of post-secondary education. If you have any questions, please speak to your child’s counselor.
11th Grade PSAT/NMSQT
The PSAT/NMSQT is Wednesday Oct. 30th. Students will have an alternate schedule to take the PSAT. Scores are used to help students get a better sense of how they might do on the spring SAT. Scores are not officially reported to colleges. Students may qualify for National Merit Scholarship. Students may opt out if the college entrance practice exam via the PSAT/NMSQT Opt Out form.
In order to accommodate this week’s College Fair (Friday, 10/4), we have an alternate bell schedule this week:
Thursday, 10/3 – 8 period day
Friday, 10/4 – EVEN block day
Count Day, 10/2/19
Count Day for DCSD is coming up. It is October 2nd. Please do your best to have your child in school for the full day. This is how our school gets funding for your children. As a thank you to students who are present on Count Day, we are allowing students to wear:
Wednesday, 10/2 – Sports (team) gear or Graphic T-shirts
Shorts must be an appropriate length
Thursday, 10/3 – Sweatpants Day
Formal Day, 10/4/19
The College Fair is Friday, 10/4. Students should be in Formal Day attire. Please note: Sneakers are not appropriate for Formal Day.
College Fair, 10/4/19
We have 30+ colleges/universities attending our College Fair on Friday, 10/4/19 from 10:00am-11:00am. 11th/12th Grade from 10:00am-10:30am and 9th/10th from 10:30am-11:00am in the large gym. Parents are welcome to attend at any time during the fair. Click here for the HS College Fair Letter to Parents/Students. We encourage you to complete the Visitor Check In. Deadline to RSVP is 10/3/19.
Picture Re-Take Day, 10/4/19
Picture Retake Day is coming up on October 4th. Please fill out the picture retake form if you are unhappy with the picture taken at Student Check-In or did not have a photo taken.
