November 30, 2019

We hope you are enjoying time with family during the Thanksgiving Break! We wanted to send a few reminders as we head into the last few weeks of the semester.

Formal Day, 12/4/19
Friendly reminder the first Wednesday of each month is Formal Day. See below for sample pictures of formal wear. The goal of Formal Day is to have our students practice professional dress. We understand this can vary by occupation and do our best to provide a basic outline to follow.

EXCEPTION for Formal Day:  12th grade students have a sweatpants/pajamas spirit day for winning the Turkey & Black Socks and Volleyball Attendance Spirit Days competition. Congrats, seniors!

11th Grade SAT Practice Test
Due to the weather closure on 10/30/19, 11th grade students were unable to take the PSAT/NMSQT. We are offering students an opportunity to take a proctored full length practice test at SVA. Interested students will need to attend an interest meeting during Advisement on Monday, 1/13/2020 to sign up. The practice test will take place on Saturday, 1/18/2020 from 8am-11am.  The test scores will not be official. However, scores may be used to assist our teachers with designing test opportunities in the spring. Sign up using the 11th Grade SAT Practice Test Sign-up link if your 11th grader would like to register for the free practice test.
